This Easter it feels like everything has changed. But then, that was exactly what happened that very first Good Friday. When Jesus died, everything changed. Darkness covered the Earth. The Disciples were scattered. The sound of crying and wailing filled the air, as the mourners buried his body. The hope of salvation faded with the setting of the sun.

But on the first day of the week, with the dawning of the sun, the Son of God rose from the grave, victorious over sin and death, bringing salvation to all who believe in his name. That was the day everything changed! And so this Easter, we pray for everything to change once more. We pray for our Lord to bring healing to our world where so many are dying from the Coronavirus. We pray for our Lord to bring light and hope into the darkness of isolation and separation. And we pray for boldness through the Holy Spirit to share the gospel in our communities and on our frontlines, that many would come to believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

So, join with us this week, as we remember the week when everything changed.

As God’s people, we have a sure hope that whatever darkness we might be feeling now, Easter is just around the corner and is a wonderful time for us to remember Jesus, the light of the world, making a way out of darkness for us. Maundy Thursday

Join us at 8pm on Maundy Thursday on Zoom for a home communion. We are scattered, each in our own homes, but we are one body through the blood of Christ.

Good Friday

Day of Prayer with Horsham Churches Together

Christians throughout Horsham will be praying and fasting on Good Friday, praying for our town and our nation during the Coronavirus pandemic. We encourage you to pray at home, in your essential workplaces, or while walking you local streets as your daily exercise for the day. A prayer guide for the day can be found here.

One Good Friday

We cannot perform our passion in the Carfax this year, but One Good Friday will be live streaming on the Wintershall facebook page. There will be a special programme celebrating the journey of almost a thousand cast and crew from around the country, including clips and interviews with people from the Horsham play. The 2019 Trafalgar Square Passion Play will also be shown.

As the sun in setting at the end of the day, gather around a campfire with Rend Collective, for their specially Easter edition of their Socially Distant Worship Club. (They’re actually live streaming at 8pm ET / 2am GMT Good Friday, but will be available on catch up so you can watch it tonight!)

There’s a virtual Easter decorating party at 10am for the children, hosted on Zoom by the Dibdin’s. Message Pete in advance, and we can send out wooden decorations that the children can paint together.

Sing Resurrection

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland are calling all Christians to sing out the resurrection of Jesus Christ at 10am on Easter Sunday. Stand at your front door or head out into the garden, and sing at the tops of your voices, Jesus Christ is Risen Today and Thine be the Glory.
