Happy New Year 2024

Happy New Year!

As I look back over 2023, I’m thankful that God has been with us every step of the way through His Holy Spirit. We’ve been able to share the love of God on our everyday Frontlines and speak hope into people’s lives. We had the opportunity to host family and friends at our Sharing LIFE Meals, take part in the town’s coronation celebrations and sing carols with the Phoenix Club members and the residents of Manton Court. We’ve worshipped and prayed with Christians from around Horsham in the Carfax, the Park and TRBC. And we celebrated 30 years of LIFE Community Baptist Church, we thanked the Lord for His faithfulness over the years.

As we start a new year, I pray that we’ll be a church family who lives by faith, is known by our love, and is a voice of hope in our communities. So, I encourage you to take time to pray for your Frontline relationships, praying for opportunities to share the love of God with those who don’t yet know Jesus. And if you want to challenge yourself with a New Year’s resolution, then think of five people you know and commit to praying for them every week – then set an alarm on your phone as a weekly reminder!

Looking to the term ahead, our Sunday teaching theme in the Phoenix will take us through the book of Philippians, with its themes of prayer, discipleship, unity, partnership, confidence and joy. We’ll also be talking together in the café, walking and praying around the town, enjoying Branch 217, encouraging one another around the meal table, and journeying together in our LIFE groups and Discipleship group.

I leave you with the words of blessing from Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT):

May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace.
