Happy New Year

At New Year, we look back over the year that has been and look forward to the year that will be. Over the last year, we’ve witnessed the devastation of war in Ukraine, grieved the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and watched Prime Ministers come and go. We’ve experienced anxiety and stress, hardship and despair. Yet love and kindness abound, with homes opened to refugees, community food banks feeding the hungry and friends listening deeply to one another over a cuppa. What has 2022 been like for you?

Jesus once said, one of the most important things we can do is to “love your neighbour as yourself” – to be the kind of person who is there for others, just as you hope someone will be there for you in your time of need. No one knows what the year ahead will bring, but we can choose to start the new year with love in our hearts and a commitment to helping those around us, being kind to everyone we meet.
