Wisdom for the Whole of Life Teaching Series

Following our series on Embracing Justice, we’re diving into the Book of Proverbs in the search of wisdom to help us follow the Lord in the our daily lives.
Bookshops have a vast array of self-help books, every day we see adverts promising to revolutionise our lives with amazing ideas and products, and social media is home to a whole host of influencers inviting you to follow their way to a better life. But with so many voices, it’s hard to know who is being wise and what is, well, going to be a huge waste of our time and money on something that doesn’t really help.
The Book of Proverbs reveals to us that true wisdom doesn’t start with human ideas and choices, but God. And when we live in relationship with God, read His Word and listen to His voice, we can discover what wisdom looks like in every sphere of our daily lives – in our homes and our workplaces, in our neighbourhoods and our communities.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be looking at:
- A Lord to Honour (Proverbs 1:1–7)
- A Path to Take (Proverbs 2:1–22)
- A Choice to Make (Proverbs 9:1–18)
- A Life to Pursue (Proverbs 15:16–33)
- A Way to Speak (Proverbs 10:18–21; 11:11–13; 25:11–15; 26:17–22)
- A Model to Follow (Proverbs 31:10–31)
