This week “We’re on a mission from God”, looking at Mark Chapter 6 in our teaching series in the Gospel of Mark – The Good News About Jesus”. We’ll be particularly focusing on verses 1-13, where Jesus is ignored in His hometown but welcomed elsewhere. His disciples are sent out to places where they are welcomed and places where they are rejected. Where is Jesus sending us today?

If you didn’t know and/or hadn’t read this story about Jesus’ welcoming
back to His hometown, would you have assumed that it would have went
like it did? Why or why not?
Why did people in Nazareth have a hard time believing in Jesus? (Mark 6:1 6)
Why did Jesus send out the Twelve? What authority did He give them? (Mark 6:7 11)
What were Jesus’ instructions to them? What was the purpose of these instructions? (Mark 6:8 11)
What was the content of their message? What miracles did they do? (6:12 13)

Reflect on how you could share the gospel with those who are closest to you?
