Questions for Reflection

After you’ve listened to George’s talk based on Matthew 6:19-34, you might like to use these questions for personal reflection, or a discussion at a Life Group.

1

In Matthew 6:25, Jesus says, “do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear”. If you were writing a list of life’s worries today, what would you include?

2

Take time to reflect on these statements that come through the passage. What do they mean to you, and how might they help you are feeling anxious or worried?

You are valued by a loving Heavenly Father
(Matthew 6:26)

Worry adds nothing to your life – it only takes away
(Matthew 6:27)

God cares about your daily needs
(Matthew 6:30)

Prioritize the Kingdom of God in your life
(Matthew 6:33)

Focus on challenges of today, rather than worrying about what might happen in the future
(Matthew 6:34)

And finally,

The future of all who believe in Jesus is that God will be with his people – no more pain, no more suffering, no more death, no more tears.
(Revelations 21:3-5)

3

What can you do different this week, to help reduce the worries of everyday life?

4

Look over these statements again, how can trying to put these into practice in our own lives make a difference in the lives of those around us.

5

Now pray to your Heavenly Father, who loves you.
